We were thrilled to work with Bash on this project, joining the conversation at the very beginning to help shape the concept. The team at Bash was inspired by the massive "shoppable video" trend currently dominating markets in the US and China, where viewers can watch a live stream and purchase products in real-time. They wanted to bring this interactive experience to South Africa, and we were excited to help them make it happen. This wasn't just about filming; it was about partnering with them to introduce a fresh way for customers to shop online.

Breaking New Ground

The main challenge here was technical execution for a format that is still very new to the South African market. We weren't just creating a standard video; we were building a bridge between entertainment and e-commerce. We needed to ensure that the live stream production quality was high while functioning perfectly as a vertical video format for mobile viewing. It was essential that the audience could engage with their favourite influencers in real-time without any friction, making the transition from watching to buying feel natural.

Building the Experience

Our team managed the production from start to finish. We helped plan the creative concepts and directed the set development, paying close attention to the specific height requirements needed for vertical video framing.

During the event, we handled the live streaming and live audio mixing, ensuring the feed was broadcast clearly to Instagram. This allowed Bash to facilitate genuine engagement, with influencers responding to comments and sharing products live. We ran multiple streams over the course of Bash Beauty Week, managing the technical side so the Bash team could focus on the products and the audience.

Results and Impact

The response was fantastic. The videos generated hundreds of thousands of views in a short space of time, proving that the local market is ready for this kind of interactive shopping experience. The Bash team was extremely happy with the final output.
